Destroyers Name Medlin Head Coach

Atlanta, GA--  Hampton Road’s National Gridiron League (NGL) franchise the Virginia Destroyers have hired coaching veteran Tim Medlin as its new head coach.

Medlin, a former collegiate football player himself, has coached at the high school and professional levels since 2004. As an offensive assistant coach with the Nashville Venom of the Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL). Medlin, a native of Washington D.C., captured a PIFL league championship as a member of veteran indoor football coach Billy Back's staff with the Venom.

Medlin played collegiately at West Virginia Wesleyan and Catholic University. As a senior with the Catholic University Cardinals, the team would post an undefeated regular season.

Medlin intends to bring a fast-paced and explosive offense to coastal Virginia led by former FCS national championship receiver Domo Taylor of James Madison. Defensively, the Destroyers will count on All-Big Ten defensive back Jonathan Crawford to led an athletic defensive unit.
